In his continued effort to enhance security, boost and improve local trade, the Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon. Godwin Offiono, has illuminated the University of Cross River State, Okuku campus, and the popular Okuku Market, the economic hub of Yala LGA, with solar-powered lights.
For Okuku Market which attracts traders from far and near, maintains a unique nature of commercial activities which runs from morning through late into the night, this intervention is not just timely but necessary.
The installation of the solar-powered lights will not only make the market safer but also extend commercial hours and increase night time commerce in the market.
Beyond the market and the University, Hon. Offiono also ensured the lightening of other strategic locations, including the popular O. C. Bravo, and Ogba Streets.
This initiative reflects his commitment to community development, economic and social welfare as well as the creation of a safer environment for all.
